On Monday 9th July, we went on a walk to Warneage Wood.
The is the area adjacent to Hooper's Field and is owned and managed by The Woodland Trust.
We looked at the position of the wood in relation to school on a map, then walked to one of the two ponds in the woods.
We looked at the types of trees, grasses and wildflowers, and the many insects, butterflies and moths that could be seen.
At the pond, were dipped in various places to see what we could find in the water. As well as seeing many water snails and water beetles, we also identified some baby newts (newtlets).
